Forget big concrete stages and long concerts in 40-degree heat ... This summer, head for the Rosa Bonheur Festival! Every weekend from July 6 to August 30, 2025, we're off on a pilgrimage of sound to the Château de Rosa Bonheur, tucked away in the hamlet of By-Thomery, in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest (77). A bucolic setting for a playlist 100% creative, 100% inspirational.
Launched in 2020 by Lou Brault, this festival is a living manifesto, an ode to women who create, vibrate, struggle and shine. A vibrant tribute to Rosa Bonheur, animal painter, pioneer and free spirit, who transformed her château into a mecca for artistic emancipation in 1859. The idea? Make summer weekends dance to the rhythm of female talent, with a rich program of chanson, classical music, jazz, folk and world music... A range of concerts that electrify the heritage and break the codes of the classical scene.
Expected artists include Barbara Pravi, Birds on Wire, André Manoukian, Ledisi, Sophye Soliveau, Sophie Alour, Laura Prince, Dafné Kritharas, William Shelton, Laurianne Corneille, Odile Heimburger, Lucile Boulanger and Calling Marian.
Here, you can stretch out on the grass, chill out in a deckchair two meters from the artists, listen, vibrate and breathe. No crash barriers, no one-upmanship, just intimate musical encounters, in a natural cocoon where art grows freely, like wild grass.

In short, the Rosa Bonheur Festival is summer's best-kept secret: a concentrate of female talent, a poetic soundtrack, a green setting to amplify the voices we don't hear enough.
