French chanson artists come together in the sublime setting of the ancient amphitheatre in the city of Carcassonne. That's what France 2 is offering you to discover in prime time this Saturday, September 6, 2025, with this special, never-before-seen musical evening, entitled "La grande fête de Carcassonne". French chanson and fireworks illuminate the city of Carcassonne. To celebrate the end of summer, France 2 is broadcasting " La grande fête de Carcassonne " on Saturday, September 6, 2025. To be discovered in prime time, this musical evening takes place in the magical and majestic setting of the medieval city's ancient amphitheatre. A veritable jewel of French heritage, the city of Carcassonne is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Every summer, the medieval town's ancient amphitheatre plays host to what has become a highly acclaimed music festival. This year, several national and international headliners took to the stage in front of an enthusiastic audience. Alanis Morissette, Lamomali, Judas Priest, Pierre Garnier, Jean-Louis Aubert, Santa, Gims, Ben Harper and Gojira were just some of this summer's headliners.

The ancient amphitheater of the medieval city has also opened its doors to another event, to be broadcast on France 2 on September 6, 2025. Entitled " La grande fête de Carcassonne " , this program will feature live performances by artists from the French chanson scene. On the program? Zaz, Bénabar, Pascal Obispo, Julien Clerc, Amel Bent, Chantal Goya, Patrick Fiori and Il Cello, Tina Arena, Boulevard des Airs, Collectif Métissé and Héritage Goldman. Gathered around Stéphane Bern and Laury Thilleman, they will all perform live in the heart of the ancient amphitheatre. A grand fireworks display, fired from the ramparts of the city of Carcassonne, will bring the evening to a fitting close.
