Kylian Mbappé will be Anne-Sophie Lapix's first guest at the launch of her weekly program "Le 20 20" on M6, this Sunday September 7, 2025 at 8:20pm. A prestigious choice to inaugurate this new Sunday interview appointment.

Kylian Mbappé officially launchesAnne-Sophie Lapix 's new program on M6. The 53-year-old journalist, who left France 2 last June after eight years as presenter of the 8pm news, chose the captain of Les Bleus to inaugurate"Le 20 20", her new weekly interview program broadcast every Sunday at 8.20pm.

"We wanted an exceptional personality, whose words are rare and who brings generations together, for this first edition of 20 20," says Anne-Sophie Lapix in a press release. The choice ofReal Madrid's star striker is no coincidence, given that M6 will be broadcasting the forthcoming soccer World Cup. "Kylian Mbappé's name was an obvious choice just a few months before the World Cup, which M6 will be broadcasting. We're extremely happy that he's agreed to open the show," adds the journalist.

This interview comes at a strategic time for the French footballer. Les Bleus face Ukraine on Friday evening and then Iceland on Tuesday, September 9, in their World Cup-2026 qualifier. According to L'Équipe, the interview was filmed in Clairefontaine and will cover a wide range of subjects: the challenges facing the French team and his role as captain, his second season at Real Madrid, racism in soccer, his involvement with young people through the IBKM association, and many other topics.

For Kylian Mbappé, this television appearance is a rare event. His last television interview was with Gilles Bouleau on TF1's "20H" in March. The captain of Les Bleus usually keeps a low profile in the media, which makes this interview a special one for the launch ofAnne-Sophie Lapix's show.

This new program is in line with the strategy of M6 and RTL, which belong to the same media group. "What's interesting about M6 is that it's a younger audience (than the 20H00, editor's note), of working people. I have children aged 20 and 23, and they didn't necessarily watch what I did before, so I'm hoping to interest them," explains Anne-Sophie Lapix.

The "20 20" format features a ten-minute interview recorded under live conditions, broadcast every Sunday after the news. An additional sequence will then be available on the M6+ digital platform. "The guests will be people in the news: obviously quite a few political personalities, because we're in a pre-election and electoral year, but also culture and sport," explains the journalist.

For Anne-Sophie Lapix, this return to M6 marks a new chapter after her eviction from France 2. The journalist had already worked for the channel in 2005-2006, presenting Zone Interdite, before moving to TF1, then France 5 and France 2. Since August 25, she has also hosted the 6pm-8pm news slot on RTL.

The choice of Kylian Mbappé to inaugurate"Le 20 20" testifies to the ambition ofAnne-Sophie Lapix and M6 to create a strong media event from the very first issue. It's an audacious gamble that should appeal to a wide audience, from soccer fans to the journalist's loyal viewers.

Of note:"Le 20 20" with Anne-Sophie Lapix and Kylian Mbappé - Sunday September 7, 2025 at 8:20pm on M6 and replay on M6+. A 10-minute interview followed by exclusive bonus content on the streaming platform.
