Attention Nirvana fans! Arte is broadcasting Kurt Cobain's legendary concert at Seattle's Paramount Theatre on October 31, 1991! It's a chance to step back in time, in the footsteps of the best of grunge music, and (re)discover some good old songs, such as "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Lithium" and "Blew".

Alongside Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, Nirvana were part of Seattle's famous"Big Four". In just three studio albums released between 1989 and 1993, the combo of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl undeniably left their mark on the history of music, and grunge in particular. More than 30 years after Kurt Cobain's death, his personality and creative talent continue to shape and inspire an entire generation.

If you too have been rocked by the sounds of Nirvana, and if you like to delve back into the past by listening to"Bleach","Nevermind" or"In Utero", then the following may well appeal to you! Arte has announced the broadcast of a Nirvana concert held on October 31, 1991 at Seattle's Paramount Theater! At the time, it was the band's first concert in a major venue.

Recorded exactly five weeks after the release of the"Nevermind" album, this Nirvana concert at the Paramount Theater is an opportunity to (re)discover a number of key tracks, including " Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam ", " Rape Me ", " Smells Like Teen Spirit ", " About a girl ", " Polly ", " Blew " and " Lithium ".

This Nirvana concert, filmed at the Paramount Theater in 1991, can be seen on Arte Concert from September 19, then on television on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 0.35.
