So, what can fans expect from this anniversary tour? On its social media channels, Placebo has revealed that they'll be performing tracks from their first two albums, Placebo and Without You I’m Nothing. Some of these songs haven't been played live in over 20 years!
Placebo is a flagship rock band of the 1990s. Formed in 1994 by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1996, featuring hits such as "Come Home", "36 Degrees", "Teenage Angst", and "Nancy Boy." However, it wasn’t until 1998 and the release of the acclaimed "Without You, I’m Nothing" that Placebo truly broke into the global spotlight. The album went gold in France, propelled by timeless singles like "Pure Morning", "Without You I'm Nothing", and "Every You Every Me." Since then, they have released six more studio albums, including the latest, "Never Let Me Go", in 2022.
On June 19, 2026, the alternative rock band will unveil "PLACEBO RE:CREATED"; an album marking the thirtieth anniversary of their debut release. It features reimagined and enriched versions of the original ten tracks, along with two bonus songs. "We see this album as an extended version. We didn't recreate it from scratch. We went back to the original tapes and infused thirty years of live experience into the recordings. The project was about finally completing the album, updating its sound for the 21st century while preserving its integrity and spirit. It's not about improving it—we think it’s perfect as it is—but about adding to it. It’s a celebration of our origins, a bridge between who we were then and who we are now; a way to honor that innocence while letting the songs flourish with the scope, confidence, and energy of today’s band."
