On Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:30 a.m., the Madeleine Church in Paris (8th arrondissement) will host the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale, an American vocal ensemble renowned for the quality of its performances and the breadth of its repertoire.
Hailing from Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Concert Chorale is an auditioned choir of volunteer singers united by a shared artistic standard. For more than four decades, the ensemble has pursued a high-caliber musical program and has performed in numerous countries around the world. This tour marks its first-ever visit to France.
Under the baton of Dr. Susan Medley, a renowned name in American choral circles, the choir will present a program blending French musical heritage with international repertoire. They will be accompanied at the piano by Bryan Sable, a pianist, composer and choral conductor.
Audiences will have the chance to hear works by Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Nadia Boulanger, Olivier Messiaen, Camille Saint-Saëns, Morten Lauridsen and Anthony Sylvestre. Among the pieces performed are Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Nadia Boulanger’s Cantique, Anthony Sylvestre’s Comme une rose, Saint-Saëns’s Soirée en mer, and Lauridsen’s Dirait-on.
In the prestigious setting of the Church of the Madeleine, this concert will offer Parisian audiences a musical journey that spans European choral tradition and contemporary American sensibility.
