June is the month of excitement! At this time of year, there's an abundance of events and outings in the capital, both indoors and out. Parisians are also smiling, as June marks the beginning of summer!
In June, music also takes center stage in Paris and elsewhere in the Ile-de-France region, thanks to the Fête de la Musique and the many festivals scattered throughout the region. In the meantime, concerts continue in concert halls, with eclecticism the order of the day. French variety, rock, K-pop, metal, electro, rap, R&B, classical music, blues, jazz? All styles are represented, to satisfy the tastes and desires of as many people as possible.
To welcome artists, both national and international, Paris and the Île-de-France region are spoilt for choice when it comes to concert halls and performance venues. Think of the Paris La Défense Arena, located in Hauts-de-Seine, and Paris Bercy, the iconic venue tucked in the eastern edge of the capital. Other venues also shine a spotlight on live music. Notably the Zénith de Paris, the Olympia, the Philharmonie, the Salle Pleyel, the Trianon, the Folies Bergère, the Grand Rex, and the Élysée Montmartre.
Those who prefer more intimate venues are also spoilt for choice, thanks to La Maroquinerie, La Cigale, Le Trabendo, La Gaîté Lyrique, La Boule Noire or Petit Bain and Cabaret Sauvage.
So many venues happy to host prestigious artists, as has been the case in recent months. David Guetta, System of a Down, The Weeknd, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, Nick Cave, Beth Gibbons, PJ Harvey or Shaka Ponk have thus been among the artists who recently set up shop in Paris for one night or several.
