When the gardens of the Hôtel de Sully turn into an open-air stage, Parisian summer shifts to a new tempo. On July 10 and 11, 2026, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris will let Mozart, Wolf, and Ravel resonate under the stars. Conducted by Jan Söderblom, with violin and baton in hand, the concert opens a classical interlude in the very heart of the Marais.

This summer, classical music goes outdoors... in the fresh air. On Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, 2026, the Gardens of the Hôtel de Sully swap the rustle of leaves for the hum of bows. At 8 p.m., the Orchestre de chambre de Paris takes this open-air setting for an evening that brings together Mozart, Wolf and Ravel under the stars. Conducted — and with violin participation — by Jan Söderblom, the ensemble delivers a bright program, perfect for a musical interlude in the heart of the Marais.

On the program:

  • Mozart — Overture to Don Giovanni : premiered in 1787, this sweeping page sets the opera’s dramatic tension, balancing tragic grandeur with theatrical energy.
  • Wolf — Italian Serenade : with a tremulous lyricism, the piece evokes guitar-like sonorities. Originally written for string quartet, it was later arranged for orchestra with a solo viola.
  • Ravel — Le Tombeau de Couperin : written between 1914 and 1917 and then partially orchestrated, this elegant cycle pays homage to several of the composer’s friends who fell at the front.
  • Mozart — Symphony No. 31 in D major, “Paris” : composed during Mozart’s third stay in Paris in 1778, the work instantly electrified audiences at the Concert Spirituel with its sparkle, tenderness and virtuosic energy.

The evening kicks off as doors open, about an hour before the concert. Attendees will reach the gardens through the entrance at 7, place des Vosges, in the 4th arrondissement. Note that the July 10 performance is already sold out; latecomers can still join the waiting list.

When the bows catch the breeze and Mozart resounds between the lanes of the Marais, it's hard to imagine a more beautiful soundtrack for a Parisian summer evening.
