In just five albums, System of a Down has become a staple of the metal scene. Formed in California in 1994, SOAD has undoubtedly left a mark on an entire generation with its powerhouse hits, such as "Chop Suey!", "Toxicity", "Lonely Day", "Aerials" or "Spiders". This summer, System of a Down returns to Europe with a series of dates across Sweden, Italy, Germany, Poland, not forgetting France. It’s at the Stade de France that the California quartet will set up shop. For the occasion, two sold out shows are on the calendar: Thursday 2 and Saturday 4 July 2026.
For now, we still don’t know what the band has in store for its Parisian fans. But we know the two opening acts who will take the stage at the Stade de France on July 2 and 4 before SOAD arrives! Serj Tankian and his crew have pulled out all the stops, inviting on all dates of this European tour two very special guests.
Audiences will first get to rediscover Acid Bath. The renowned American sludge metal outfit, born in the early 1990s in Louisiana, has wisely decided to reform, taking the stage again and reconnecting with its nostalgic fans.
Following a set at Hellfest in Clisson, and shows in Manchester and Stockholm, Acid Bath will roll into Paris as the opening act for System of a Down. Don’t miss this chance to catch the legendary band, whose career ground to a halt in 1997 after bassist Audie Pitre lost his life in a car accident.
Second special guest expected at the Stade de France on July 2 and 4, 2026 before SOAD takes the stage? Queens of the Stone Age! Is it really necessary to introduce this band founded in 1996 and led by the singer and guitarist Josh Homme?
With eight studio albums under their belt, Queens of the Stone Age were recently in the capital to unveil their album "Alive in the Catacombs", a live record captured in Paris's catacombs in July 2024. The band behind timeless anthems like "No One Knows", "Go with the Flow", "Little Sister" and "Make It Wit Chu" is sure to electrify France's biggest stadium on July 2 and 4, gradually building the heat ahead of the SOAD show!
