Duo Jatekok brings metal to the keyboard with Rammstein on the Beach. In this work for two pianos, Adélaïde Panaget and Naïri Badal bring together the repertoire of the German band and the repetitive structures of minimalist music. What ties it all together? Rhythm, recurring motifs and the way a single musical phrase can transform.
The two pianists know this repertoire from having opened for Rammstein on tour in 2019 and 2022. They also recorded Duo Jatekok Plays Rammstein, released in 2022. In this new show, their work takes the form of a continuous program, designed to move listeners between worlds that are usually kept separate.
The title nods to Einstein on the Beach, the opera by Philip Glass. The project also evokes the worlds of Meredith Monk and Édouard Ferlet: clues to discovering what repetitions and piano lines can bring out in music associated with the energy of guitars.
David Gauchard directs and designs the set. Lighting is designed by Antoine Travert, musical and sound design is by Clément Mirguet, and costumes are by Armine Ohanyan. Premiering at the Opéra de Limoges in October 2026, the production extends the piano arrangements through work with space, sound and light.
An option worth exploring for fans of Rammstein’s repertoire and for anyone curious about the crossover between classical piano and contemporary music.
