It's almost time for another round! The latest edition of the"Les Femmes s'en mêlent" festival is set to return to Paris, from Tuesday November 28 to Saturday December 2, 2023, with a series of concerts scheduled at Café de la Danse, Petit Bain, Mécanique Ondulatoire and POPUP du Label. On the program? A new season rich in discoveries of new female musical gems!
Since its inception in 1997, the Les Femmes s'en mêlent festival has welcomed a host of big names: Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Brigitte Fontaine, Maria McKee of Lone Justice, Mona Soyoc of Kas Product, Anne Clark, Elli Meideros, as well as a host of new talents for their first stages: Emilie Simon, Cat Power, Feist, Metric, Nouvelle Vague with Camille, Yelle, CSS, MIA, Regina Spektor, Daphné, Ebony Bones, Austra....
We can only imagine that this new edition will do as well as its predecessors, if not better, as the festival once again confirms its legitimacy by asserting its eclectic and pioneering character. With the ambition of offering a broad cultural panorama in which the female gender is not one, but many, the festival reaffirms its values and originality, militating again and again for plurality, high standards and solidarity!
And I might as well tell you right now, but this 2023 edition of the Les Femmes s'en mêlent festival promises, once again, some wonderful visual and aural surprises! As proof, the festival invites you to come and applaud Jeanne Balibar, RVG, Ada Oda, Nuria Graham, Grandmas House and Gina Birch, founding member of post-punk band The Raincoats.
