Sortir à Paris tellsyou , you're going to love lunch and dinner at La Défense from Monday June 23 to Sunday June 29, 2025 ! And with good reason: this summer, the La Défense Jazz Festival returns to the Place de La Défense, its historic site, with a new and exceptional 48th edition punctuated by free open-air concerts.
Once again this summer, a variety of artists from a wide range of musical backgrounds will be on hand every lunchtime and evening to delight your ears and eyes. Last year, several talented artists lit up the festival by playing and interpreting several of their hits. The 2024 edition featured Gregory Porter, Imany, Jeff Mills and Tigran Hamasyan.
So, this year, who has the honor of treading this ephemeral stage set up on the Place de La Défense? Well, the famous American musician Herbie Hancock is announced as the headliner. The former member of the Miles Davis Quintet and free-jazz pioneer will be in concert on Sunday June 29, closing the event. This will be his third appearance at the festival.
Other confirmed names? The talented Angélique Kidjo, young Zambian rapper-singer Sampa The Great, American jazz reggae band Groundation, Manchester trio GoGo Penguin and UK neo-soul prodigy Jalen NGonda. Also announced are Black Lives, Célia Kameni, Dhafer Youssef, Senegalese R&B duo Def Mama Def and La Chica & El Duende Orchestra.
In addition to these big names in jazz, the Ile-de-France festival will, as every year, be welcoming new musical nuggets with the 48th Concours National de Jazz.
As a reminder, during the week, the festival offers concerts starting at 12pm, then at 6pm. On weekends, musical evenings are not to be missed, starting at 8.15pm, with a free, cutting-edge program every time!
