Accompanied by live music and original compositions by Jérôme Farrugia, storytellers Jean-Christophe Siriac and Magali Gaudou bring to life tales inspired by ancient, contemporary and futuristic myths, from prehistory to the year 3045. As soon as you arrive at Le Onzième Lieu, a café transformed into a performance space for the occasion, you'll be invited to sit down at a table with friends and family, or with strangers if you're coming alone.

After listening to the story, the storyteller suggests two endings, and the audience must then vote for their favorite. Several times, you have to put yourself in the character's shoes and respond to change his or her fate, before the plot splits up and dispatches you to different rooms according to your decision.

Afterwards, you can catch up with the others and discuss what's happened, creating real moments of exchange, over a drink or a dish, as the café serves food and drink, for a convivial moment. Then there's another story to tell - your own!

Our verdict:

An original, interactive concept that makes you want to come back and try out other stories (there are around thirty to choose from)! Settling down at one of the many tables scattered around the room, which can accommodate around 30 people, we order a small drink, as the venue allows us to eat and drink throughout the evening. In front of us, a small stage with a guitar and microphone, a screen projecting illustrative images and dim lighting. For two hours, Magali Gaudou and Jean-Christophe Siriac take turns telling us four stories, accompanied by Jerome Farrugia on guitar.

The first story takes us back in time, to the side of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton, a true story mixed with a little fantasy to entertain the audience. Jean-Christophe's work is to be commended, as he creates the stories after extensive research, as well as the dialogues to bring the story to life in a playful way for the audience, which includes children and teenagers. And the latter quickly lends itself to the game! At the end, we have to make a decisive choice, which will lead the crew to a tragic or happy conclusion.

Some stay in the room to hear where their choice will take them, while others slip away into a small isolated space to hear the other ending. There's a short pause between each story, where spectators can talk to others in the room to find out the details of the ending they didn't hear. A great way to share! The second story takes us to a contemporary period, to Godard, with a lively debate.

The third, set in a futuristic Korea where children's IQs have been genetically modified, raises a number of questions about morality and the future. The choice isn't always easy, and we tend to follow our instincts, absolutely delighted when everything ends well and a little depressed when we cause the death of the characters or a sad ending, because we can hold the future of one or the whole world in our hands!

After these three stories, depending on the group's overall responses, you have access to a fourth, adapted story, with multiple possible alternative endings. Ours was humorous and positive, thanks to a good group! This allows you to chat with other spectators and participate fully, for a relatively derisory price of just 12.95 euros.

Our only regret is that the music is a little too loud at times, providing a background for the storyteller but sometimes overpowering the voices. The stories are varied and can appeal to everyone, including children aged 10 and over, and all you're asked to do is raise your hand to speak - you're not taken to task like in immersive theater.

It's home-made, far from being a big production, by real show enthusiasts. So don't expect a theatrical show, or anything too lavish, but rather a lively, affordable evening out with family and friends!
