Following last year's Charles Perrault tales, the association and school Les Lames sur Seine offers a new swashbuckling show, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Set at the heart of the Espace Saint Pierre in Neuilly-sur-Seine, dive into the story of the Sept Mercenaires, through an original reinterpretation that relocates this tale to 17th‑century France, in the midst of the Ardennes scarred by the Thirty Years' War. It’s a production where heroism, survival, and the quest for redemption unfold on stage, punctuated by spectacular duels!
Youth and adults alike will be able to discover this original creation, with meticulous costumes and choreographed duels, staging fallen gentlemen, roaming swordsmen and solitary brigands, a troupe of mercenaries ready to risk their lives to defend the weak in the face of oppression, in a battle that goes beyond them. Carried by quarante comédien(ne)s- bretteur(se)s, mostly amateurs, this nearly two-hour show is accessible to the whole family!
A story that has been reinvented a thousand times, this tale has traveled from the villages of feudal Japan, beginning with Akira Kurosawa’s seminal work (Seven Samurai), to the Western, spanning the ages. In Neuilly-sur-Seine (92), it sits in the tradition of Alexandre Dumas, who breathed new life into swashbuckling tales.
