Visiting the opera isn’t just for grown-ups! Introducing children to the world of opera and ballet at a young age helps them appreciate these art forms even more as they grow up. Fortunately, the Paris Opera offers a wide range of family-friendly shows, like imagOri. This dance and musical story is currently playing at Opera Bastille from January 7 to 10, 2026, and welcomes audiences aged 4 and up.
Lasting just 35 minutes to keep it accessible, the show is brought to life by Compagnie Chriki'Z. It transports audiences into a dreamlike world crafted entirely from paper set designs, where origami—ranging from tiny to colossal—embodies the creatures that inhabit children’s imaginations. Often seen as a delicate, flexible material, paper serves as a powerful metaphor to explore themes like transformation, vulnerability, and boundless creativity.
In a world made of paper, a traveler encounters a chimera that gracefully folds and twists. This sparks a dance dialogue, accompanied by the enchanting song of the guardian of the space. Bringing together a contemporary dancer, a hip-hop artist, and an opera singer, imagOri invites audiences of all ages to embark on a journey of discovery and connection.
Tickets cost just 5 euros for children up to 15 years old and €16 for adults.
