Le Point-Virgule has a rich and singular history. Born with the ambition of being a café-théâtre, then taken over by troupes of comedians, its takeover in 2007 by Jean-Marc Dumontet enabled the theater to rapidly gain notoriety. Names such as Elie Kakou, Florence Foresti and Gad Elmaleh have taken their first steps here, testifying to the venue's importance in the French comedy scene.

Le Point-Virgule's programming is varied and dynamic. Every evening, the theater offers a variety of comedy shows, stand-ups and one-man shows. These performances offer a unique opportunity to discover new talent and spend an entertaining evening full of laughter.

To accommodate shows with greater capacity, in 2012 Point-Virgule also opened a second entity: Le Grand Point Virgule, located in Montparnasse, rue de l'Arrivée. Programming in the vein of its renowned identity, but with two new halls seating 430 and 220 respectively.
