For his first production with the Troupe de la Comédie-Française, Tiago Rodrigues, director of the Avignon Festival, takes on the fate of Hecuba, the fallen Trojan queen, a figure of pain and revolt. True to his approach to theater as a direct dialogue with the audience, he blends the voice of the ancient character with that of a woman of today: an actress and mother whose intimate story overlaps that of Hecuba. As the actress rehearses the play, her own personal drama unfolds: the struggle for justice in the face of the abuse suffered by her autistic son.
