Based in Montmartre, the Espace Dali Paris has been home to the largest private collection of works by Salvador Dali for 25 years. After 4 months of closure for works, the Espace Dali is once again visible since April 13, 2018 with a new itinerary, a new proposal that will reinvigorate the museum.

Rediscover the work of Salvador Dali in Montmartre, from April 13, 2018 in theEspace Dali. Opened 2 years after Dali's death by Beniamino Levi, a prominent Italian gallery owner and collector, the museum welcomes 150,000 visitors each year from all over the world.

After 25 years of exhibitions, the architectural firm Adeline Rispal - known for its work on the French Pavilion at the 2015 Milan World Expo, as well as the MUCEM - has given the establishment a new lease of life.

The spaces have been redesigned to highlight the singular story of Dali, deliberately non-exhaustive and focused on the lesser-known part of the artist's work. TheEspace Dali collection focuses mainly on the artist's furniture, bronze sculptures and surrealist objects that only Dali knew the secret of, accompanied by gouaches and other engravings.

The idea behind the renovations? To " redesign the volumes of the museum and imagine a new scenography " while telling " a particular story of Dali's artistic career, deliberately non-exhaustive, as it enhances a lesser-known part of his work but sheds essential light on his technique and creativity ".

To enable exhibitions to be organized, the central walls pivot around a pillar, an innovation that will be appreciated over time.

The first presentation is made up of 6 themes, divided but not compartmentalized, allowing visitors to wander from erotic metamorphoses to galacidalacidesoxyribonucleicacid (a neologism used by Dali and derived from Gala (his wife) and deoxyribonucleic acid), a space that brings together works with scientific reasoning.

A gallery area at the end of the tour allows visitors to acquire Dali's oils on canvas, drawings, watercolors, engravings and sculptures after hearing a number of anecdotes, enough to turn visitors into enlightened collectors.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
