To walk us through the season devoted to the Renaissance genius, the Louvre holds an exhibition called “The Advent of the Artist” in the Petite Galerie until July 5, 2021. The exhibition had to close because of Covid but reopened from May 19.
Covering 250sqm, everything has bene thought up to teach us how to read a work of art. About thirty masterpieces are literally analyzed, dissected in a very explicative fashion to make sure everyone finds an answer to the following question: how did artists advent through time?
From the first features left by craftsmen in the Antiquity to nowadays, where the simplest feature of an artist is a masterpiece, via the assertion of the Renaissance artists’ independence and elements enabling to identify their works, the exhibition delivers a lovely focus on highlights of art and creation.
Because of the new nationwide lockdown, the Louvre provides the "The Advent of the Artist" exhibition online and free of charge (click here to enjoy the tour)
A wonderful fashion to complete the tour of the da Vinci, Donatello, Michelangelo and Altdörfer exhibitions planned for this season 2019/2020 at the Louvre.
