Attention all Serge Gainsbourg fans. Since January 25, the Bibliothèque publique d'information (Bpi) at the Centre Pompidou has been presenting the free exhibition "Serge Gainsbourg, le mot exact". This is the first opportunity to discover several of the famous French artist's manuscripts from his home in Paris, as well as numerous works from his library. Please note that the exhibition closes at 10pm on September 3, so don't miss the last few days of this free installation dedicated to Serge Gainsbourg!

While many are eagerly awaiting the opening of Maison Gainsbourg, the museum dedicated to the singer, the Bibliothèque publique d'information (Bpi) at the Centre Pompidou is devoting a brand-new, free exhibition to the man with the cabbage head. On view since January 25, this installation entitled " Serge Gainsbourg, le mot exact " (Serge Gainsbourg, the exact word ) unveils for the first time manuscripts by the famous singer, taken from his home on rue Verneuil in Paris. The exhibition also features numerous works from his library.

Note that the exhibition was due to close to the public on May 8. However, due to its success, with almost 82,000 visitors since opening last January, the installation will now run until September 3, 2023. So don't miss out on the last days of this beautiful free installation!

More than thirty years after his death, the author, composer and performer remains famous the world over for his sublime songs, such as " Je t'aime moi non plus ", " La Chanson de Prévert " and " La Javanaise ". However, few people know that Serge Gainsbourg was also a collector of small pieces of paper and autographs (Jacques Canetti, Philippe Bertrand...), testifying to his compulsive daily use of the written word.

The artist left behind a collection of over 500 texts, written for himself and his performers (Dani, Jacques Dutronc, Marianne Faithfull, Régine, France Gall, Petula Clark, Dalida, Alain Bashung, Vanessa Paradis...).

These include Stefan Zweig's"The Chess Player", Franz Kafka's"The Trial", Paul Léautaud's"Le petit ouvrage inachevé" and H.G. Wells'"The First Men in the Moon".

Within this original, immersive scenography (sound and images), fans can also discover a surprising portable bar that once belonged to the singer, as well as a set of canes and his famous white Repetto shoes.
