Art Basel Paris 2025: 30 Blizzards, the free performance by Helen Marten and Miumiu at the Palais d'Iéna

Art enthusiasts can get their diaries in order - Art Basel Paris returns to the capital for its fourth edition, from October 22 to 26, 2025. Considered the major contemporary art fair of the autumn, it takes over the Grand Palais with a cutting-edge selection of works by modern and contemporary artists from all over the world. But Art Basel doesn't just take place under the glass roof... Once again this year, the fair is moving beyond its walls and inviting itself to several of the city's most emblematic venues. What's on the program? Exhibitions, installations, free curatorial projects and off-site events, transforming Paris into a veritable open-air museum. These include theHôtel de la Marine, the Domaine du Palais Royal and Place Vendôme.

If you're more intounusual or evenconceptual , head to the Palais d'Iéna in the 16th arrondissement. This remarkable building, headquarters of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, is being transformed into an experimental stage for Helen Marten, a London-based writer and artist whose works feature in the prestigious collections of MoMA in New York and the Tate in London. With "30 Blizzards," she makes her first foray into performance art with the support of Miu Miu, official partner of the Art Basel Paris Public Program for the second consecutive year. Miuccia Prada's fashion house, true to its approach of exploring narratives of femininity through research combining fashion and culture, has created a bold new hybrid project.

Conceived with theater and opera director Fabio Cherstich and composer Beatrice Dillon, the work blends sculpture, video, libretto and movement to create an immersive choreography. In a poetic, sensory game,"30 Blizzards" summons up time, language, structure and transformation to question human identity.
