Paris is the art capital of France. And in autumn, the City of Light gives pride of place tocontemporary art. This is the time of year when there are the mostexhibitions, fairs and contemporary art shows. One in particular stands out: Art Basel, the major international event for contemporary art.
From October 24 to 26, 2025, the show takes place under the glass roof of the Grand Palais, but also in the streets and museums of Paris. In fact, a whole program of "hors les murs" events will transform the capital into an open-air museum during this artistic season. Exhibitions and installations can be admired in Paris parks and gardens, squares, streets and monuments...
This year, the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine is also taking part in the celebration of contemporary art, hosting two new exhibitions as part of the Art Basel fair. The museum offers an unexpected program featuring two international artists, to be discovered from October 22, 2025 to February 16, 2026.
La Cité presents Fabienne Verdier, with the exhibition Mute, and a group show by the Yares gallery, Chromoscope. Although both exhibitions feature abstract works, we discover very different artists: each attempts to speak to our senses, our emotions, our unconscious, but using personal techniques and gestures.
