Labubu is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Paris with the exhibition THE MONSTERS 10th Anniversary, running from March 4 to 29, 2026 at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur. Titled MONSTERS BY MONSTERS: NOW AND THEN (The Present and the Future), this stop on the international tour revisits the fantastical universe created by Kasing Lung since 2015, following exhibitions in Shanghai, Taipei, and Hong Kong.
Organized by POP MART and How2work, the exhibition brings together original sketches and collectible figurines from the THE MONSTERS series. Visitors in Paris can explore the journey of Labubu, the central character of this universe, developed over the past decade. The exhibition is arranged into several sections, featuring paintings, sculptures, illustrated books, and even an immersive zone dedicated to Labubu plush toys. A timeline also highlights ten years of collaboration between Kasing Lung and How2work.
Visitors can view original sketches, some of which are being displayed for the very first time, alongside the complete collection of figurines available since 2015. The exhibition offers a unique insight into how this universe has developed over the years, fueled by Kasing Lung's childhood fascination with Nordic illustrated books.
Labubu, with her nine teeth and pointed ears, takes center stage in this retrospective. Surrounding her are the other characters from THE MONSTERS, depicted as elves living deep within northern forests.
Our Review of the Labubu Exhibition in Paris:
We had the chance to preview this exhibition just a day before its official opening. Right from the start, what catches the eye is its very artsy vibe: it’s not the typical figurine showroom you might expect. Instead, it’s a showcase that epitomizes artistic expression, featuring works inspired by the iconic character. Paintings, drawings, sculptures... Visitors are immersed in the universe of the beloved creature, which has firmly taken its place in pop culture. Of course, there’s a shop—though it remains quite understated.
The exhibition spans quite a bit, with seven rooms presenting both the artwork and the origins of Labubu. Despite a sparse number of explanatory panels, there's enough context to understand its significance. Located at 60 Rue de Turenne, it’s fairly easy to access—just a short walk from Saint-Paul Metro station (Line 1). A quick entry through the courtyard of the historic building leads visitors right into the exhibition space.
It should appeal to children who share an affinity for this universe. The figurines are vibrant and eye-catching, complemented by a straightforward yet effective gallery layout. Art lovers will also find plenty to enjoy, especially visitors eager to stop by the shop for a limited-edition collectible.
An excellent outing for fans of contemporary art, pop culture... and of course, Labubu.
In just one space, visitors can explore a decade of artwork and witness the growth of a universe that was born in 2015 and continues to evolve today. Want to stop by for a visit?
