From March 4 to June 9, 2026, the Renault Fashion Show®, located at 53 Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, transforms into a showcase for the Pop Art Car exhibition — a free cultural experience conceived in partnership with the Renault Fund for Art and Culture. For several weeks, this space dedicated to automotive culture, design, and contemporary creation invites visitors to explore how cars can become powerful artistic icons, blending pop art masterpieces, urban installations, and futuristic show-cars.
To mark the occasion, several iconic models are given a fresh look by renowned international designers. Among them are Mathieu Lehanneur, who designed the torch and the vessel for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; Sabine Marcelis, whose works have been showcased at major design and contemporary art fairs like Art Basel and Milan Design Week; and Ora Ïto, whose creations frequently feature in collections at the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. These contemporary artists each offer a unique interpretation where design, innovation, and artistic creation come together, weaving a dialogue with the history of the automobile.
The exhibition also features a dynamic cultural program including artistic performances, talks, DJ sets, and guided tours. Access to these events is free and registering on the Renault® fashion show website is required.
Stepping through the doors of the Renault Fashion Show®, you'll feel like you've entered a space where contemporary art intersects seamlessly with urban culture. The Pop Art Car exhibition examines how artists have transformed the automobile—an icon of modernity, freedom, and shared dreams—into a powerful canvas for creative expression.
This exhibition highlights the connection between Pop Art, which draws inspiration from mass culture (particularly advertising), and Street Art, the contemporary descendant of this creative spirit expressed in public spaces. Bold colors, references to graphic design, graffiti, and even video games come together to engage in a dialogue with the automotive world, creating an accessible experience for all visitors.
According to Catherine Gros, President of the Renault Art and Culture Fund:
"Pop and urban artists have long engaged with everyday visual culture. Cars are not only everyday objects but also emotional icons that have sparked artistic inspiration for nearly a century. Showcasing these works alongside concept cars offers a fresh perspective on popular culture—and reminds us that art, like automobiles, is for everyone."
The Renault Foundation for Art and Culture, which boasts an exceptional collection, also aims to preserve this heritage and make it accessible to as many people as possible. For this exhibition, the Foundation has generously lent several key works. Among the pieces on display, visitors can notably explore:
The ramp of the Renault® parade, designed by architect Franklin Azzi, has been transformed into a true exhibition space for the occasion. This area, inspired by race tracks, showcases several show cars that highlight how automobiles can be reimagined as artistic objects.
Visitors can explore a variety of creative takes on iconic brand models, reimagined by contemporary designers, such as:
Other works resulting from collaborations with contemporary artists, such as those by British street artist Dan Rawlings and designer Ora Ïto, also delve into the boundaries between sculpture, industrial design, and future mobility.
The Pop Art Car exhibition is also complemented by a series of events open to the public. Several activities will help animate the weeks of the show:
From art exhibitions and automotive design to urban culture and artistic events, Pop Art Car offers a unique escape in the heart of Paris. Whether you're passionate about contemporary art, a fan of Pop Art or Street Art, or simply curious to explore an unexpected cultural spot on the Champs-Élysées, this free exhibition could soon become one of your must-visit cultural outings this spring.
