It's a part of the world we know little about: often mentioned only in the context of climate change and its environmental impacts. Yet, the Arctic has its own people, its unique culture, and of course, its dedicated artists.
These artists invite us to explore Inuit art and culture through a free exhibition hosted at the Art Inuit Gallery, running from March 26 to August 31, 2026. Nearly a dozen contemporary artists share their unique perspective on the Arctic, crafting an artistic alphabet—from "A" for Arctic to "Z" for Zenith, with "T" representing Tambour.
The exhibition ABCdaire: Arctic Narratives Through Inuit Art showcases contemporary artists from the Arctic—Inuit from Canada, Greenland, Alaska, and Siberia. These artists are sculptors, painters, and illustrators, reinventing the image of their homeland well beyond stereotypes and Western news coverage.
Each letter is linked to a significant aspect of Inuit culture, and every piece is paired with a brief description to help visitors learn more about the displayed items.
These works are more than just visually striking—they tell the stories of Inuit legends, cosmology, spiritual practices, and cultural traditions. In doing so, they serve as a means to preserve, share, and bring to life this little-known culture for a wider audience.
