The L’Aiguillage cultural space hosts SHEROES.1, a multimedia collective exhibition focusing on women whose contributions have been overlooked, running from March 28 to April 24, 2026, as part of International Women’s Rights Day.

The cultural venue L’Aiguillage will host the group exhibition SHEROES.1 from March 27 to April 24, 2026, in celebration of International Women's Day.

In celebration of International Women's Rights Day, L’Aiguillage at Les Frigos in Paris is showcasing a multi-media group exhibition dedicated to extraordinary women from all walks of life: whether famous or everyday heroes, often stigmatized, marginalized, discriminated against, or simply forgotten — they're here to be rediscovered and recognized as they truly deserve.

The project aims to bring to life a constellation of female trajectories through a diverse collection of free-form works—whether visual, sound, or textual—each complemented by a series of biographical banners. Both women and men artists reinterpret selected or randomly chosen figures from a custom deck of 52 playing cards. Created by L’Aiguillage, these figures are drawn from established profiles or personal stories, offering a fresh perspective on collective and individual histories.

In response to the exhibition, an expanded outreach initiative takes over the space: on-site displays in the hallways, outdoor posters on the walls of the fridge complex, and stickers placed throughout the urban environment, resembling research notices
— perhaps daring to challenge patriarchal norms like rebels of the system?

SHEROES.1 challenges the construction of mainstream historical narratives, shining a spotlight on both celebrated and lesser-known heroines. It offers a thoughtful, artistic reinterpretation where the concept of matriarchal heritage enriches our collective patrimony. Designed as a space for visibility and memorial transmission, the exhibition encourages visitors to continue sharing these stories through artistic works and take-away materials. It aims to inspire not only reception and internalization but also outward expression…

An opportunity to discover Les Frigos, with its water tower, a iconic site in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

The L'Aiguillage is a landmark hub of Paris’s cultural scene, founded in 1995 by Corinne Bertelot, a photographer and resident artist at the Frigos, a renowned creative and production site in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

Far from being merely an exhibition space, L'Aiguillage also positions itself as an engaged actor, regularly collaborating with social and humanitarian groups such as Médecins Sans Frontières, the International Prison Observatory, Greenpeace, Act Up, or Refugee Food, to raise awareness for important causes.
