Sculpture comes back to life in Hauts-de-Seine (92) with the return of Spring of Sculpture 2026. To mark the occasion, the Rodin Museum in Meudon will reopen the doors of the Villa des Brillants on March 28 and 29, 2026, offering a free weekend of guided tours, workshops, and artist encounters. Visitors will enjoy an immersive experience into the world of Auguste Rodin, right in the heart of his former studio-home.

Every spring, the Spring of Sculpture sparks inspiration for art lovers in the Hauts-de-Seine (92). This series of events focuses on sculptural creation, offering a diverse lineup of workshops and exhibitions. Initiated by the department as part of the Heritage Days, the event has brought together museums and cultural sites since 2019 for immersive visits and engaging activities centered on sculpture.

For its eighth edition, scheduled from March 21 to 29, 2026, 22 venues will participate in the event, including the Château de Sceaux, the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, the Hangar Y and the Rodin Museum in Meudon. As part of the celebration, the museum will reopen the doors of the Villa des Brillants on March 28 and 29, 2026, offering a free weekend filled with guided tours, workshops, and artist encounters. Visitors are invited to explore this historic artist’s studio home of Auguste Rodin, where the sculptor shaped part of his legacy and his life. This lineup promises an enriching experience that will add depth to this artistic weekend.

Spring 2026 Sculpture Program at the Musée Rodin in Meudon:

  • Quick Guided Tour: "Behind the Scenes of Creation"
    At 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 12:00 PM
    For ages 12 and up
    In the morning, a guide traces the fascinating history of the house-studio where Auguste Rodin and Rose Beuret lived for nearly 25 years. This insider’s look offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative process and the inspiring environment of this iconic place.

  • Family Participatory Workshop
    From 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
    For ages 4 and up
    In the afternoon, get your hands dirty with artistic creation: guided by an artist, children and adults alike will explore sculpture-making in the workshop and bring their imagination to life.

  • "Watercolor in the Garden" Beginner Class
    From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
    For ages 12 and up
    With brush in hand, let your creativity flow amidst the bucolic scenery of the estate. Led by a visual artist, participants will learn the basics of watercolor painting while drawing inspiration from the garden’s beautiful landscapes.

  • Student Exhibit: Installation Inspired by Puvis de Chavanne’s Monument
    Saturday, continuous presentation from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
    Students from Germane Tillion High School in Le Bourget (93) will showcase a large-scale installation created throughout the school year, inspired by a work of Rodin, displayed in the Plaster Cast Gallery.

  • Cocyclette: A Bike-Scultping Trail
    Reservations required
    Discover sculptures in motion — hop on your bike and explore Meudon and Clamart while connecting several cultural sites, including the Rodin Museum – Meudon, Hangar Y, and the Meudon Museum of Art and History.

  • Self-Guided Drawing in the Plaster Cast Gallery
    With pencil in hand, draw inspiration from Rodin’s masterpieces to sketch your own forms. Art supplies will be available for spontaneous drawing practice.

  • Open House at La Source Garouste – Des Brillants Artist Residency
    Meet the resident artists Pierre Genouvrier and Lou Cruard to discover their work and chat about their creative journeys.

  • Picnic in the Garden
    Between activities, pause for some outdoor relaxation: the garden of the Villa des Brillants offers a perfect setting for a spring picnic.

A weekend designed to spark creativity and inspiration, blending history, artistic practice, and leisurely exploration in a space where Rodin once sculpted his ideas outdoors.
