Just a stone's throw from Paris, there's another Rodin museum just around the corner... and it's no Plan B! Nestled in Meudon, in a verdant setting in the Hauts-de-Seine department (92), this confidential site plunges you into the world of the sculptor with striking authenticity. House, workshop, park... everything you need to rediscover Rodin in a different way - free of charge, without reservation and in the heart of nature, every weekend until the end of September.

Did you know that another Rodin Museum exists... outside Paris? Nestled in Meudon, in Hauts-de-Seine (92), this little-known treasure invites you to plunge into the world of the master of sculpture. Open every weekend until the end of September, this haven of greenery, free of charge and without reservation, offers a complete experience between home, studio and park.

The journey begins at the Villa des Brillants, the residence where Rodin laid down his tools for the last 20 years of his life. We enter his private world, passing through the dining room, salon and studio, faithfully reconstructed from period photos. A few steps away, a tactile area offers a unique sensory experience, with reproductions of resin works for you to discover... with your fingertips.

Below, the Galerie des Plâtres is bathed in immaculate light, revealing the successive stages of emblematic creations such as La Porte de l'Enfer, Les Bourgeois de Calais and studies for Balzac, Victor Hugo and Whistler. Here, Rodin's genius is expressed through his many plaster proofs, living witnesses to his creative process and his art of assemblage.

The visit is rounded off by an educational area presenting sculpture techniques, with films, tools and models revealing the secrets of modelling, moulding, bronze casting and marble carving.

The stroll continues through the vast park, a veritable treasure trove of vegetation that plays on several levels. The avenue of chestnut trees leads to a lawn featuring original monumental bronzes, while L'Homme qui marche sur colonne (Man Walking on a Column) dominates the meadow overlooking the Seine, where it's a pleasure to dine in spring. Ancient sculptures line the path, and in front of the Château d'Issy, Le Penseur stands guard over the tomb of Rodin and his wife Rose, both of whom have been laid to rest here since 1917.

Finally, theAtelier des Antiques, designed in 1900, resembles a real sculptor's studio, with mezzanine and observation gallery. The space houses Rodin's rich collection of Greco-Roman marbles, Egyptian and medieval sculptures, reflecting his deep admiration for the Old Masters.

The Rodin Museum in Meudon, a place of life, creation and transmission, also offers numerous educational projects for young people. An unmissable cultural getaway in Hauts-de-Seine (92) to rediscover Rodin ... in a different way.
