The Azzedine Alaïa Foundation once again celebrates the master's art with the exhibition"Azzedine Alaïa. De silence sculpté", from September 12 to November 16, 2025. A vibrant tribute to the Summer-Fall 2003 couture collection, sublimated by Bruce Weber's black-and-white photographs. The collection marks Alaïa's comeback after eleven years of silence, ushering in a new period at the height of his virtuosity.

Eleven years of retreat, far from a fashion system he considered alienating, during which he renewed his signature emblematic designs season after season. In 2003, just as his company was going through a period of financial fragility, he found new financial support and, accompanied by his friend and ally Carla Sozzani, isolated himself for several weeks in his workshop to design a collection that would put him back at the top of world couture. Jackets and frock coats switch from straight to bias, perforated skirts and zip-up dresses flirt with absolute purity, while precious leathers, light chiffons and immaculate shirts adorned with broderie anglaise reveal Alaïa's obsession with invisible perfection.

Under the historic glass roof where the show took place, thefashion exhibition brings together some thirty haute couture and ready-to-wear models, as well as archive documents, press articles, photos and videos illustrating the success of this major fashion show. To capture the spirit of the show, take a trip back to 2003: no set, no catwalk, just the clothes, worn by almost naked silhouettes, in a silence filled with the poems of Jacques Prévert, the voice of Arletty and the songs of Juliette Gréco. True to his legendary discretion, Azzedine Alaïa doesn't greet the public... it's the clothes that speak for him.

Upstairs, for the first time, Bruce Weber's black-and-white photographs for Vogue Italia are on display. Images that skim bodies, skim volumes and reveal a new femininity, in perfect resonance with the couturier's vision.

This exhibition invites the public to rediscover the legacy of Azzedine Alaïa, a fashion style carved in silence and sculpted to exacting standards.
