There are many treasures to be found in gardens, if you know where to look... Our gardens reveal their secrets in a new exhibition at the Cité des Sciences. The science museum deciphers the life phenomena that take place in these small environments, and which affect us as much as flowers or insects.
The Jardiner exhibition, presented at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie from October 14, 2025 to July 12, 2026, takes us on a sensory and educational journey of discovery of these life-rich ecosystems.
The exhibition is divided into six interactive chapters. Along the way, we learn about soil biodiversity, inter-species relationships and the way plants help each other, the impact of climate on gardens, the benefits of gardening for men and women, and the animal and plant species that inhabit our gardens...
These topics are illustrated by large-scale installations that reproduce existing gardens. Each chapter also includes a number of experiments to help you learn more about the subject in question, and to approach science in a more playful way. All in all, this tour stimulates our grey cells as much as our senses: vision, smell, touch... The garden is a rich world full of surprises!
Each tent houses a different theme, different plants... You'll discover the scents of the garden, the sounds of those sharing a moment in the open air, the colors of the flowers. All around, you'll find games andinteractive installations accessible to all.
The exhibition is aimed at children discovering nature's cycles, as well as adults wishing to learn more about responsible gardening.
The exhibition route is completed by a living, evolving digital work: a "gardeners' fresco", which visitors can add to with their own inspiration. Using a "magic spray", visitors can grow new plants in this digital garden.
Let yourself be drawn into the wonderful garden of the Cité des Sciences, with this new temporary exhibition.
