Starting January 16, 2026, the Saint Laurent Rive Droite Paris boutique will spotlight Man Ray with an exhibition titled Objects of My Affection. This exclusive and free showcase is curated by Anthony Vaccarello. Here, the ordinary is reinvented, the everyday becomes iconic, and each object transforms into a Dada manifesto, all viewed through the surrealist lens of the artist.
Emmanuel Radnitzky, better known as Man Ray, was an American painter, photographer, and filmmaker who later became a French citizen. Throughout his career, he played with light and form in innovative ways. In Paris, alongside Marcel Duchamp and within the Society of Independent Artists, he created his iconic rayographs and transformed everyday objects into poetic and symbolic artworks. Red Hot Iron (1966) turns a simple iron into a glowing red sculpture, while Mailbox (1965) pairs a black zinc box with seven hand-painted ceramic letters, exploring themes of communication, intimacy, and the symbolic significance of exchanges. Each piece encourages viewers to reconsider the function of ordinary objects and engage in a poetic dialogue with the artist.
Anthony Vaccarello continues his reflective exploration with his reinterpretation of Haltères / Square Dumbbells, a distinctive sculpture from the 1930s: a workout weight transformed into a contemplative art piece. Available in matte black metal or polished mirror finish, each edition is signed and packaged in a luxurious box, making it a collectible work of art in its own right.
With Objects of My Affection, the Right Bank transforms into a surrealist stage: everyday life is reimagined and art becomes irresistibly alluring.
