What if Goldorak, Marilyn Monroe, Daft Punk, Oasis, Dragon Ball Z, Candy, and Brett Sinclair all gather in one universe? That's the premise of BACK TO MR CUTE, the immersive season-launch exhibition kicking off the first-ever pop-up gallery dedicated to the world of the artist Mr Cute, at the 177 rue Lecourbe, in Paris's 15th arrondissement.
From Thursday September 3, and until December 15, visitors are invited to embark on a true time-travel journey through a selection of unpublished works that blend pop art, street art, humor, and nostalgia. Staying true to its offbeat universe, Mr Cute imagines improbable encounters between the great figures of popular culture and playfully revisits memories that have marked several generations.
Open from Thursday to Sunday, the gallery presents two emblematic collections. On one side, the famous giant slides, inspired by old Kodak slides and transformed into pop art works. On the other, a series of lenticular creations, whose image evolves with the movements of visitors. Between memory, illusion and motion, each piece invites the public to experience an interactive and surprising encounter.
Designed as an immersion into pop culture, BACK TO MR CUTE brings together the heroes of the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s with contemporary art. Goldorak crosses paths with Marilyn Monroe, Candy rubs shoulders with Daft Punk, and icons from multiple generations meet in witty, reference-laden, and poetic compositions. An exhibition that will appeal just as much to urban-art connoisseurs as to pop-culture enthusiasts.
To celebrate its opening, the gallery is hosting an Opening night Thursday, September 17 from 6 p.m., in the artist's presence. Early visitors will have the chance to discover a selection of never-before-seen works created especially for this evening and offered in a limited edition. The event will feature a DJ set and an open bar.

Finally, one detail makes this gallery even more distinctive: its future is uncertain. While the exhibition is slated to run until December 15, it could shutter earlier if the space finds a new tenant.
“The owner is letting us use this space only while it isn’t rented. If you tell yourself, ‘I’ll go later,’ it might already be too late… drop by while the doors are still open!” explains Mr Cute.
