JEMA 2026: Explore the Artisans’ Village at Château de Vincennes

Are you familiar with the craftsmanship professions? These trades are officially recognized with a special title, reflecting their unique character. Among the 281 designated métiers d'art, each embodies a blend of traditional skills and advanced technical expertise. They are regarded as exceptional crafts. Examples include conservators of heritage gardens, carpenters, jewelers, metal sculptors, ceramicists, hat makers, feather artisans, calligraphers, and puppet makers, among others...

Artisan crafts are often found in the fields of architecture and heritage conservation, as well as in fashion and luxury. These artisans keep alive historic skills and techniques that enhance the prestige of brands and enrich French cultural heritage.

To showcase these crafts and highlight traditional techniques, the European Days of Art Crafts organize hundreds of events and demonstrations across France every year. The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place from April 7 to 12.

Just outside Paris, in the Val-de-Marne, the Vincennes Castle is taking part in a major cultural celebration. This historic fortress will open its doors over the weekend of April 11 and 12, 2026, offering free activities for visitors of all ages. Find out what’s in store for you.
