Mark your calendars: since last year, a new rendezvous has brightened the patrimoine francilien. For an exceptional weekend, from April 17 to 19, 2026, the Nuit des Monuments opens the doors to the region's most majestic sites for timeless evenings. It's the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a privileged historical interlude in the heart of royal or religious buildings dressed in their night-time finery.
In the Yvelines, seat of the Duchy of Chevreuse since the Renaissance, and marked by the House of Guise and then by the Dukes of Luynes, the Dampierre Castle and its gardens have been revived since 2018. From the reigns of the Valois and Bourbon kings to the grand fêtes held in honor of Marie Leczinska, Madame de Pompadour, and Marie-Antoinette, the estate is an exceptional setting where this year the gardens à la française and their fountains—vanished since the Revolution—are coming back to life.
