Fancy spending two days in a far-off era? Then head over to Meaux for a day lived as in the Grand Siècle.

The Grand Siècle refers to the era covering the 17th century in France, from the reign of Henry IV to the regency of Philippe d’Orléans, roughly 1589 to 1722 (according to Wikipedia). Marked by the Baroque style, the creation of the French formal garden style by André Le Nôtre, and the revival of tragedy in the theatre, this period remains vividly etched in memory, especially in artistic and cultural terms. In Meaux, in the Seine-et-Marne department, we invite you to step back in time and immerse yourself in this unique era, for a day.

What’s on the agenda? Immersive animations, a baroque parade, vintage wooden games for families, theatrical skits, and even a filmed historical reconstruction. With family or friends, even drop by in costume for even more immersion!

What’s on the agenda:

  • 11 a.m.: Baroque parade, departing from City Hall
  • From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.: immersive period-accurate animations, performances and musketeers on the move (by Unicorn Legends)
  • From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.: maze, blind man's bluff, chess, archery and fencing workshops, period wooden games for children, at the Bossuet Garden
  • From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.: short plays in Saint-Étienne Square (from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 2:15 and 2:45, every hour)

All the activities offered during this grand day in Meaux are completely free and open to all: a standout outing that's truly out of the ordinary! See you on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
