Archaeology is a fascinating scientific discipline, which enables us to find and study the remains left by those who came before us. Constructions and buildings, burials, everyday objects, human and animal skeletons, works of art: each discovery offers new insights into human beings and societies of the past.
For nearly twenty years, the European Archaeology Days, organized by Inrap under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, invite children and adults alike to discover the behind-the-scenes of archaeology through educational activities, encounters and tours with researchers. This event is an opportunity to discover the professions in archaeology, but also to learn more about the richness of our local heritage!
These famous Open Days are back for a 17th edition, from June 12–14, 2026! Over these three days, you’ll be able to take part in a maximum of fun activities in Paris and the Île-de-France region. To help you pick from this rich program, here’s a selection of family-friendly outings to enjoy this weekend.
