Get out your gardening tools, sunglasses and straw hats - La Prairie du Canal is back along the Canal de l'Ourcq, in Bobigny, from Saturday, April 6, 2024 until the end of summer! Once again this year, theAssociation La Sauge is responsible for this ultra-cool little patch of greenery at the gateway to Paris, hosting open airs, braderies, workshops, exhibitions, garden events and concerts.
Planted on the remains of the former MBK moped factory, the Prairie du Canal is a veritable urban agricultural farm. Both a playground and a place for plant experimentation, it offers a complete change of scenery, just a metro ride away, thanks to its many areas of biodiversity. It's the ideal place to party and breathe (slightly) cleaner air than in Paris!
Here you'll find the Champs de Patate, the Jardins and the Potager Urbain for vegetables, the Poulailler, the Mandala where medicinal plants are grown, the Champignonnière and its mushrooms grown on coffee grounds in a container, the Serre Productive and its hydroponic crops.... Enough to delight budding gardeners!
La Prairie du Canal is not only the HQ for green-thumb addicts, it also has a number of hidden spots in Paris where you can relax: La Forêt , where you can rest under fruit trees, and Le Chill, where you can take a nap in a hammock or teepee; Le Terrain de Jeu, where you can play pétanque, molky, ping-pong and badminton; La Grande Serre des Fêtes, with its exhibitions; and Les Houblonnières, where the hops used to make craft beers grow.
