Having already plunged us into the depths of the sea, taken us back in time to discover the dinosaurs, or drawn us into the World of the Minuscule, this time the Jardin des Plantes invites us to explore the treasures of nature, and more specifically natural luminous phenomena. From November 12, 2025 to January 18, 2026, we'll be at the Jardin des Plantes to take part in an original and entertaining tour.

This winter, discover En voie d'illumination: Lumières de la nature: a magical and impressive night-time stroll. This enchanting and educational stroll takes us to the depths of the sea, on land and in the sky, to discover the wonders of nature. The Jardin des Plantes showcases the animals, plants and minerals that produce or reflect light, offering a 100% natural and marvellous spectacle! An immersive and educational experience to explore the curious and spectacular phenomena of our world.

As you may have guessed, this colorful nocturnal stroll will take us to the four corners of the earth, but also to the skies. For this edition of the illuminated route, the Jardin des Plantes wants to introduce us to the curiosities of nature.

The general public is certainly already familiar with a number of luminous animals and insects. Fireflies, jellyfish and glowworms are well known for their bioluminescent abilities. But they're not the only ones! On this walk through the Jardin des Plantes, we'll discover species from all over the world, as well as plants and minerals with fascinating properties.

Along the way, visitors will encounter some very strange, almost unreal curiosities. But the museum insists: all the elements on display are very real and have been studied by researchers! With this tour, the science museum aims to reveal nature's unsuspected treasures and remind us that our world hides realities that are sometimes crazier than fiction...

After several editions of the En voie d'illumination (On the Way to Illumination) tours, the Jardin des Plantes is innovating and revising its formula. For winter 2025-2026, the scientific institution is using new cutting-edge technologies and immersive devices to better highlight the scientific topics and information along the tour, while continuing to inspire visitors of all ages. The tour featuresvideo mappingprojected onto the facades of buildings,holograms, video projections, and more.

This "En voie d'illumination" (On the path to illumination) tour is indeed very different from previous ones. If you have already enjoyed the Jardin des Plantes light tour, you will surely remember an immersive walk among sculptures and monumental lanterns in the shape of animals. This year, expect something completely different. The light installations are more discreet and less immersive. Instead of sculptures, visitors can admire holograms placed here and there in the garden, with light effects accompanied by a special soundscape.

This 2025 edition is less visual and less impressive than previous editions. The video mappings are fascinating, the subject matter is very interesting and approached in different ways, but the format is completely different and a little less magical for families.
