On June 2, 2024, the Maison-Atelier Foujita opens its doors for a new edition of the Rendez-vous aux Jardins, with an attractive program of workshops focusing on the five senses.

The last studio of painter Tsuguharu Fujita, aka Léonard Foujita, the Maison-Atelier Foujita overlooks the Mérantaise valley in the heart ofEssonne. Left untouched since the painter's death over fifty years ago, it is a place of remembrance, allowing visitors to discover the intimate world of one of the most famous painters of the Ecole de Paris.

On the occasion of Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024, an event that invites curious young and old to the parks and gardens of Paris, Ile-de-France and France, the Maison-Atelier Foujita opens its doors wide on Sunday, June 2, 2024!

For the duration of the weekend, parents and children will be able to take part in a wide range of activities, each more artistic and bucolic than the last. Here's the full program?

The program for Rendez-Vous aux Jardins 2024 at the Maison-Atelier Foujita:

  • Competition: Winning drawing!
    June 1 and 2

Did you know that back in 1924, artistic events had the same value as sporting events at the Olympic Games? This year, we're bringing the "Pentathlon of the Muses" back into fashion, and we're calling on you to enter an art competition! In the style of Foujita or manga, submit your drawing of a real or imaginary athlete. Awards ceremony on September 22 at 6.30pm during the Journées du Patrimoine.

  • Athletic bodies on white backgrounds
    June 1 and 2

Foujita considered his monumental paintings on white backgrounds to be his masterpieces. In this Olympic year, rediscover the Combats diptych through the prism of the martial arts, and judo in particular. Reproductions of these two large-format paintings, accompanied by photographs of judo fights, will be available for viewing throughout the season.
