It's a good deal that's well known to Parisians, yet we don't necessarily think of taking advantage of it. And that's a shame! When the warm weather arrives, Parisians for a day and for ever are quick to storm the parks, gardens and banks of the Seine. Others prefer to head for the Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne to immerse themselves even more deeply in nature.
But in addition to picnics with family, lovers or friends, pétanque or racket games, there's also a more original activity to tempt you: boating in Paris. Imagine floating in the middle of a lake, away from the crowds, in the company of your best friends, your soul mate or your little family, surrounded by greenery as far as the eye can see!
It's possible! In the Bois de Vincennes, the meeting place is Lac de Daumesnil on the Route de la ceinture, near the Porte Dorée metro station. Boats are available for hire every day except from November 15 to February 15, including public holidays. On weekends, rentals are available from 10 a.m. until one hour before dusk, and on weekdays from 2 p.m. onwards. Boats cost €13 an hour for one or two people, and €14 for groups of 3 or 4. On the Vincennes / Saint-Mandé side, Lac des Minimes also offers rowboat rentals from 10€ for boats accommodating up to 5 people.
On the Bois de Boulogne side, boats start at €12 for the first hour at weekends, and €8 for half an hour. The rental site is located near the junction of the Route de La Muette in Neuilly and the Route de Surennes. A great idea for an original outing or a romantic stroll in Paris!
