A brand-new festival opens up in the Parisian landscape, right in the middle of the festive season of illuminations and other events in the capital's green spaces. The Jardin d'Acclimatation, the Parisian amusement park par excellence, and Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden, a mythical plot of land in China, are coming together for the first time to serve up a new enchantment: the Dragons and Lanterns Festival.
From December 15, 2023 to March 3, 2024, the Jardin d'Acclimatation will be invaded by lanterns and fabulous light structures created by the artisans of the Yuyuan Garden. Never before seen in Europe! A magical nocturnal stroll that takes you into the legendary world of the "Book of Mounts and Seas", a classic of Chinese literature as old as time itself.
The festival offers you a veritable waking dream, animated by majestic dragons and other fantastic creatures, where the lanterns are real works of art and the lights hypnotize you.
But that's not all! The tour also features Chinese craft workshops, Asian gastronomy, folk dancing and singing, martial arts demonstrations, and many other surprises!
For two months, the Jardin d'Acclimatation will be transformed into a magical playground, passionately fusing Chinese culture with the soul of Paris.
Whether you're a fan of Chinese legends or just curious, the Dragons and Lanterns Festival is the new Parisian event to discover this winter! The Jardin d'Acclimatation and the Jardin Yuyuan invite you on a journey to the crossroads of two cultures, where China meets Paris for a poetic and memorable experience.
