Rendez-vous aux Jardins, is the must-attend event for anyone who loves pretty gardens and green spaces, held each year, in June. So, from June 5 to 7, 2026, the Ministry of Culture invites people of all ages to go behind the scenes of France’s public and private gardens through workshops, talks, and exceptional guided tours.
Located in the heart of Saint-Denis, the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Paris Nord is a dynamic center dedicated to research in the humanities and social sciences. This institution plays a crucial role in the development of interdisciplinary research projects, focusing on themes such as migration, intercultural relations, the city and its transformations...
As a collaborative hub, the MSH Paris Nord facilitates cross-disciplinary exchanges among researchers and promotes international partnerships. The Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris Nord thus stands as a key player in mapping the intellectual and social landscape of the Paris region and beyond. For the Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2026, the venue unveils its program!
The theme is sight, and the Plaine Commune Bibliobus team offers an inclusive program and hosts a workshop on the “unseen” or on vision shaped by the other senses, with a focus on touch.
The workshop Tote bag tactile invites participants to compose a pattern using pre-cut elements and to write their name in braille. This design will be foil-printed on a bag.
In parallel, the Plaine Commune Bibliobus team will present various braille documents to students.

The garden at MSH Paris Nord is a hotspot for biodiversity. It draws on the “garden in motion” concept by landscape designer Gilles Clément: the planted species are allowed to reclaim the space freely, guided only by a few annual cuts. It welcomes wandering plants and enables coexistence among all beings—humans and non-humans alike—within this urban landscape: plants, birds, insects… Through a guided stroll, Marianne Hérard, urban anthropologist and research engineer at MSH Paris Nord, invites you to explore the history and biodiversity of this distinctive urban ecosystem.
Note: the visit is not open to children or pregnant women.
Registration and the full day’s program are available on the MSH Paris Nord website https://www.mshparisnord.fr/event/rdv-jardins-2026/
Restitution of the participatory project Listening and Autism, with Rebecca Marchesseau, Diane Schuh, and featuring Ulysse Roussel.
Since 2025, at the initiative of MSH Paris Nord, the Centre de Ressources Autisme Île-de-France (CRAIF), in collaboration with researcher, composer and landscaper Diane Schuh, has been organizing a series of immersive workshops in the garden of the Maison des Sciences Humaines et Sociales Paris Nord. In these sessions, any autistic person without an intellectual disability is invited to deepen their connection to living things—plants, animals, and humans alike. Participants are guided through musical listening to ambient soundscapes and learn to use appropriate audio tools. Built around participant testimony, this mini-conference will highlight each individual’s unique listening perspective through personal accounts and the playback of field recordings made during the workshops.
In relation to this project, Ulysse Roussel is exploring how atypical listening is represented in highly sensitive individuals. He is just starting a PhD in computer science, addressing the problem of predicting affective responses to sonic environments. The aim of this collaboration is to assess whether intentional recordings can reveal ecological sound preferences.
Diane Schuh is a researcher, composer and landscape designer, currently a postdoc at EUR-ArTeC.
Rebecca Marchesseau is a project manager at the Centre de Ressources Autisme Île-de-France, Maison de l’autisme.
Ulysse Roussel is a PhD candidate at IRCAM, in the Sound / Music and Health axis, EAC team of the STMS laboratory.
Collaborative project supported by Plaine Commune and MSH Paris Nord.
