Saturdays and Sundays from February 8 to 16, pagore Wat Thammapatip in Lieusaint celebrates Makhaboucha.

In Thailand, the Makha Bucha festival is a tradition that takes place every year in February. Considered one of the most important Buddhist celebrations in Thailand, it is a public holiday in the country, with many rituals. During Makha Bucha, families go to the temple to make offerings to the monks, then in the evening, processions take place under the full moon, according to the Theo Courant website.

This year, the festival falls on Wednesday February 12, 2025: so, at the Wat Thammapatip pagoda in Lieusaint, in the Seine-et-Marne département, Makhaboucha will be celebrated over the weekends of February 8 and 9, as well as February 15 and 16, 2025. What's on the program? The usual program, with numerous Thai street food stalls at low prices, a meditation session on Sunday afternoon and, above all, the opportunity to discover this unique place with its 1001 golden statues in the Paris region.
