An exceptional show of 120 Chinese drums at the Jardin d'Acclimatation for Ascension Day

The Jardin d'Acclimatation, located in the Bois de Boulogne, awaits you this Thursday, May 29, 2025,Ascension Day, for a unique cultural event. After taking us on a journey to India with Holi, this time the park is taking us to China.

On Ascension Day, 120 Chinese drums will sound in harmony, immersing us in China's age-old traditions. This show, the fruit of collaboration between theChinese Tourist Office in Paris, the Shenmu city government and the Jardin d'Acclimatation, promises an unforgettable sensory experience.

The Shenmu drums, renowned for their sonic power and precision, will be brought to life by 120 musicians dressed in bright red tunics. Their performance, combining perfect synchronization and boundless energy, will evoke the legends and exploits of the heroes of the Middle Kingdom. Each drumbeat will tell a story, taking us on a journey through time and space.

This show is more than just a musical demonstration. It also incorporates elements of traditional dance,Chinese opera andmartial arts, creating a rich artistic fusion that promises to be captivating. The artists' brilliant make-up, choreographed movements and drumming melody will create a lively and colorful tableau, reflecting the diversity and richness of Chinese culture.
