Did you know this? Each year, at the start of June, a benchmark event for smart outings puts culture in the green and invites us to enjoy fantastic outdoor experiences: it’s the Rendez-Vous aux Jardins. The idea is simple: over a weekend, lush venues—private or public—open their doors to reveal their secrets through guided tours and activities for all ages.
A concept promising a wealth of discoveries at the heart of our botanical heritage. Castles, museums, monuments, parks and more are fair game for the occasion, and you can even enjoy exceptional openings at places that are usually off-limits to the public, including major institutions. The next edition takes place over the weekend of June 5–7, 2026.
In Paris, it's an opportunity to reclaim a very special site: the Maison de Balzac. The former home of the renowned writer Honoré de Balzac, author of Père Goriot, Lost Illusions, and La Peau de Chagrin, this museum — whose permanent collection is freely accessible to the public — unveils a superb garden with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Not bad, right?
As part of the Rendez-vous aux jardins festival, rediscover the permanent collections at the Maison de Balzac. To extend your visit, take a stroll through the gardens and enjoy the view and the café.
