As summer approaches, the Rendez-vous aux jardins offer a wonderful opportunity to rediscover the city through its green spaces. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, this event invites the public to explore gardens, parks and landscaped sites across France and beyond, celebrating the diversity of living heritage, gardening know-how and the pleasure of a leisurely stroll. This year, the Rendez-vous aux jardins will take place over the weekend of June 5–7, 2026, and many green havens across Île-de-France are joining in, with a great program of activities for visitors.

In Paris, the Shakirail is preparing to take part in this latest edition. Located in the 18th arrondissement, this cultural and community-minded venue run by the Curry Vavart collective is buzzing year-round with a program of activities, creative workshops and events that make it a lively third place. Its landscaped green spaces take center stage for the occasion: they include community gardens, a garden theater, beehives and an orchard—all elements of a small, living landscape in the heart of Paris.
A Tour of the Shakirail Gardens
Bordering the tracks of the Gare de l'Est, the Shakirail Gardens offer a sweeping view of the Orgues de Flandres neighborhood and place visitors in a vivid example of nature in the urban landscape.
For the event "Around Role-Playing Games," Shakirail opens its outdoor spaces to a self-guided visit: the collective gardens, the Theatre of Verdure, the apiary and the orchard, along with an introduction to the site's wildlife and wild flora, and the fruit trees and plants cultivated in the orchard and gardens.
It will also be an opportunity for the public to hear an overview of the city's Jardin Relais scheme, which benefits Shakirail, the venue's activities, the Curry Vavart / AGETA association and its neighborhood outreach (collective gardens, educational workshops, AMAP, etc.), as well as the outdoor-space improvements made to enhance the gardens and foster biodiversity.
Participation requirements: Some areas of the gardens are not accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. - Free | No reservation required
