Linking the 14th arrondissement's Petite Ceinture to the Coulée verte Vercingétorix, the promenade is located on the site of the former Broussais hospital.
It bears the names of Jane and Paulette Nardal, two sisters and women of letters from Martinique. In 1920, Paulette was the first black woman to study at the Sorbonne, where she was later joined by Jane. Together with Aimé Césaire and Léopold Sédar Senghor, they were major figures in the negritude movement, defending black culture.
The walkway is reminiscent of the wing structure of the pipistrelle, a species of bat found in the 14th arrondissement's Petite Ceinture. Shared garden, Salon des découvertes, salon des jeux (including a beautiful outdoor play area for children), salon du sport (with a street workout area)... The place combines sport, games and relaxation for a stroll with family or friends.
