Yvelines (78): this iconic racecourse will host activities and a special concert this Friday.

Long out of action, stuck behind its gates, the Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse is finally gearing up to restart the action... but only on the entertainment side. This Friday, May 15, 2026, the riverfront landmark will host a public horse sale and, in the evening, a private Bob Sinclar concert.

The Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse is back in the spotlight. On Friday, May 15, 2026, this expansive 70-hectare site perched along the Seine, in the Yvelines (78), will reopen its gates to the public… but only for the duration of a single event. There’s no talk yet of a full or permanent reopening: the former horsepower hub is coming back to life in fits and starts, through sporadic events.

It's worth noting that the track had already trembled in September 2025 during "Celebrate Your Games," a family day staged on the legendary straightaway, with pony races, games and activities. Since stoppage of racing in 2019, the racecourse no longer keeps the regular pace of racing meetings, but it hasn't completely vanished from the scene.

And what a scene! The story of Maisons-Laffitte gallops through centuries. As far back as the 17th century, Mansart envisioned majestic stables for the château. Later, the Count of Artois helped plant the culture of English-style racing in France here, with a track set along the Seine and an English-style stable block able to house 80 horses. It’s enough to crown the town as one of the great historic heartlands of flat racing.

On May 15, the racecourse will once more have a paddock atmosphere thanks to AKTEM, the French agency specializing in racing-horse auctions. From 2 p.m., the public will be able to attend a horse sale held on the eve of the Grand Steeple of Auteuil.

Then, as day fades, the tempo changes. At 8:30 p.m., Bob Sinclar will take the baton for a private concert. The classics Love Generation and World, Hold On are expected to make the stands thrum in an unprecedented nocturnal vibe. For the occasion, 200 free tickets are reserved for the Mansonnians. Registration opens this Saturday, April 25 at the Tourism Office (one ticket per person, with proof), through May 5… or until the last ticket is snapped up.

The Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse hasn’t yet announced its grand comeback, but step by step it’s proving it can still make its stands come alive.
