The Animal Walk in Paris 2026: a big free stroll with dogs and cats this Sunday.

After its debut along the Champs-Élysées, the Animal March is returning this Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a new route. This time, dogs, cats and other companions will march along Avenue Foch to the Bois de Boulogne.

Purrs, barks and a merry menagerie… On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the Animal Parade returns to take to the streets of Paris. After a first edition staged on the Champs-Élysées in 2025, the procession now heads to the western part of the city. Meet at Place de l’Étoile at 3 p.m., before making its way down the majestic Avenue Foch toward the Bois de Boulogne.

On the agenda: a 2.4-kilometer stroll to the Royal Pavilion, with an expected finish around 5 p.m. The event remains free and open to everyone, with or without a four-legged companion. Dogs, cats and other domestic animals are welcome to join this second Paris edition organized for World Animal Day.

Launched in 2022 in Nice by journalist and former municipal councilor Henry-Jean Servat, this urban Noah’s Ark has since found its way to Paris. The goal remains the same: to bring together owners, families and the curious around the role of animals in the city and the questions surrounding their well-being. The first Paris edition drew more than 600 people in October 2025. This year, organizers are aiming for about 500 participants and 300 dogs, with other species potentially joining in. A fine pack could form!

For comfort, water stops dot the route, while volunteers trained in animal mediation accompany the group. Opting for Avenue Foch also changes the pace of the outing: its wide service lanes and its proximity to the Bois de Boulogne give this moving menagerie more room to stretch out, without trampling on each other's paws.

Dogs will be getting a double portion that Sunday. The Paris Sausage Walk, a major dachshund-specific march, is also scheduled for October 4, 2026, this time along the Champs-Élysées. Two parades on the same day: the sausage-dog crowd on one side, and the merry Foch troupe on the other.
