From January to November, the city showcases a continuous display of blossoms across its most iconic gardens, squares, and parks. Here are the best times and must-visit spots to enjoy Paris in full bloom throughout the seasons.

Flowers in Paris isn’t just a springtime affair. The city dusts itself in color for most of the year, from winter through autumn. But to truly enjoy the bloom, it helps to know the best times and the top spots. Some flowering seasons begin as early as January, while others stretch into November. Camellias, magnolias, cherry blossoms, peonies, irises, roses, hydrangeas, or dahlias — each season has its must-see blooms and favorite gardens.

Note: The timing of blooms can vary from year to year, sometimes arriving earlier or later than usual. For instance, in spring 2026, they are expected to bloom a month earlier than typical.

From January to March: The First Blooms of the Year

Even in winter, Paris starts to bloom. Between January and March, many gardens come alive with primroses, cyclamen, and hellebores. Next, camellias take over, typically flowering from February to April. To enjoy these winter blossoms, the Paris Floral Park is one of the top spots. Bagatelle is also worth a visit, especially for its early bloomers like , and other early bulbs. The Square Édouard-Vaillant can also provide a lovely, flower-filled sanctuary during this season.

From mid-March to May: Magnolias, Cherry Blossoms, and Wisteria, the Springtime Stars

One of the most anticipated highlights of the year! Magnolias typically bloom from mid-March to mid-April, though the timing can vary depending on the weather. The most iconic spot remains the Garden of the Palais-Royal, which has become one of the most photographed locations in the capital over the years. The Luxembourg Garden is also a springtime favorite in Paris, along with the Tuileries Garden and the Jardin des Plantes.

From April to May: Tulips, Peonies, Irises, and Roses in Bloom

In April, tulips paint some of the most vibrant scenes of springtime in Paris. The top spots to see them include the Jardin des Plantes, the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Jardin des Tuileries, the Bagatelle Park, and the Parc floral de Paris.

Summer Blooms: A Vibrant Display from June to September

Summer also has its stars. Hydrangeas typically bloom from June to September. Astilbes are also very prominent during this time. To enjoy these summer blossoms, the Bagatelle Park, the Paris Floral Park, and the Jardin des Plantes remain reliable spots. Several Parisian squares also offer lovely floral scenes to admire in the heart of summer.

From August to November: Dahlias and Autumn Blooms

As summer comes to a close, dahlias take center stage. Their peak season usually runs from August to October, with a particularly stunning display at the Paris Botanical Garden, arguably one of the best spots in the capital to admire them. Autumn then continues the floral show with asters, which bloom until October, followed by , typically flourishing from October to November. For these late-season blooms, the Bagatelle Park remains a must-visit destination.
